Thanks

The first thanks go to the amazing team at Wirral Autistic Society for their time and support in helping to make John the lovable character that he is.

A big thank you to Adam Kenrick and Marie Haugaard for all their hard work setting up the blog and for giving up their precious spare time to do so. The black and white photograph of John was taken by Adam Kenrick and there are more to be posted. He is a master at capturing the story behind the eyes.

“Pizz” as John fondly calls Le Bizz, is an established card and gift shop in the seaside town of West Kirby. Run by a local family, they ensure that John has a wide selection of balloons to choose from and kindly let us have them for free.

  1. Hi julie
I enjoyed reading this blog. Your son John reminds me lots of my son Jamie. I think they may even have met in the past…….Jamie used to go to willowtree and now attends Raby. He has recently moved into supported living through WAS. John and Jamie have much in common!
Best wishes to you and Johnx

    • Hi Janet
I am glad you have enjoyed reading about John, thank you for your comments. I am sure John and Jamie will have met either at Willowtree or at WAS. I hope Jamie is happy and settled in his new suroundings, with a good team around him. The staff are fantastic and you must feel relieved that he is getting the support he needs as an adult, in order to continue to fulfill his potential.
I know how difficult it is to let go of our boys, and I will be posting on here about my experience of having to make that decision. You may find that some of it rings true for you.
I wish both you and Jamie all the best for the future and I hope you continue to enjoy the blog.
Thanks again Janet. If you would like to email me I will give you some details of forthcoming fundraising events that I am organising, which you and your friends may like to attend. You will be guaranteed a laugh!
      Julie xx
